CARANA provided background analysis for the Government of Bangladesh in order to elaborate a national strategy for developing an IT-Enabled Services (ITES) sector in Bangladesh as well as a plan for its implementation. Three integrated analyses took place:

• Survey of likely market participants to determine the role of government/private sector and ITEC policy.
• External market analysis.
• Identification and analysis of local factors necessary for an ITES sector to thrive.

These studies were presented at a workshop bringing together key public and private sector stakeholders in the ICT sector, who participated in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing an integrated strategy to develop the ICT sector.
